Dimitri Kasakovski

Post doc

Dimitri Kasakovski holds a PhD in Vascular Biology from the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and the European Center for Angioscience at Heidelberg University. He earned dual M.Sc. degrees in Stem Cell Biology from Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) and in Regenerative Medicine from Jinan University Guangzhou (China). During his PhD, Dimitri focused on the intracellular regulation of TGFβ/BMP signaling in endothelial cells and mechanisms governing vascular quiescence. Prior to his postdoctoral work, he also worked as a strategy consultant in the biotech and pharmaceutical sector at Catenion GmbH, Berlin.

In the Sluimer Lab, Dimitri aims to integrate cross-species scnRNA-Seq and spatial transcriptomics with 3D co-culture models to uncover conserved mechanisms of vascular decline and identify metabolic targets for therapeutic vascular rejuvenation.
