Dr Rogier Veltrop (Dept of Biochemistry) has been awarded the Zeldzame Engel Award in the category Patient Representative by the VSOP, the Dutch umbrella organisation for rare and genetic diseases.

This special award is granted to individuals who demonstrate an exceptional commitment to others and who make a lasting, positive impact in the field of rare diseases. Through his involvement, dedication, and humanity, Rogier truly embodies everything the Zeldzame Engel Award stands for. The jury was unanimous in its decision: his commitment and the inspiration he provides make him a role model for many.
